VELUX Skylights & Sun Tunnels in Dover, DE
Want more daylight without giving up wall space? Bright Side Roofing is a VELUX-certified installer of skylights and Sun Tunnel® skylights for Delaware homes. We work only with VELUX for these products — sun tunnels, skylights, replacements, and installs done with a new roof. Call (302) 219-0741 to schedule an inspection.
VELUX Sun Tunnel® skylights
Sun tunnels (also called tubular skylights or daylight tubes) pull daylight from the roof into closets, hallways, bathrooms, and other rooms that can’t take a full skylight. VELUX offers flexible and rigid Sun Tunnel® options, including pitched and low-profile designs. Rigid tunnels include a long tunnel warranty from VELUX when you use their reflective tube system. We’ll match the tunnel style to your roof and the path down to the ceiling.

Skylights we install
Fixed skylights
Bring in daylight and a view of the sky. Good for living rooms, stairwells, and rooms where you want light without an operable unit.
Fresh Air (venting) skylights
Open for ventilation. VELUX offers manual, electric, and solar-powered Fresh Air models so you can vent heat and stale air without running a wall window.
Replacements
Swap a tired or leaking skylight for a new VELUX unit with the matching VELUX flashing. The best time to replace is during a roof replacement, when the old roof is already open and the flashing can be rebuilt correctly.
Skylight replacement: before & after
A fogged, worn unit swapped for a new VELUX skylight with proper flashing — same roof, clearer daylight.

Why VELUX only
We standardize on VELUX so every skylight and sun tunnel job uses one manufacturer’s flashing system, glass options, and warranty path. That keeps the roof detail consistent and makes replacements cleaner when an older unit finally fails. We do not mix other skylight brands on Bright Side jobs.
Our crews are VELUX-certified and have completed hands-on VELUX Pro Partner Training on skylights, Sun Tunnel® units, and flashing — so the people on your roof know the product the way VELUX teaches it.
Installed with your roof replacement
If you’re already replacing the roof, adding or replacing skylights and sun tunnels in the same project is usually smarter than coming back later. The crew is already on the roof, the underlayment and flashing can be tied into the new system, and you avoid a second disruption. We can also install or replace a skylight or Sun Tunnel® on its own when that fits your home better. We’ll quote daylight options as part of your roof proposal or as a standalone job.
What to expect
Inspection
We look at the roof, existing skylights or penetrations, attic path, and ceiling location.
Written recommendation
You get clear options — Sun Tunnel®, fixed, or Fresh Air — with product type and how it ties into the roof.

We install to VELUX instructions with the matching VELUX flashing for the roof type.
Walkthrough
We check for a clean exterior seal and a finished interior look before we leave.
Warranties
Qualifying VELUX deck- and curb-mounted skylights installed with the matching VELUX flashing, strictly per VELUX instructions, are covered by VELUX’s 10-year No Leak Installation Warranty (product and labor against covered leaks). VELUX also publishes a separate limited product warranty (commonly described as their 20/10/5 coverage on glass, skylight, and accessories — exact terms depend on the product). We’ll spell out what applies to your specific models in the proposal.

FAQ
Do you install brands other than VELUX?
No. For skylights and sun tunnels, we install VELUX only.
Can you replace a leaking skylight without a full roof replacement?
Yes. We can replace the unit and flashing on its own. If the surrounding shingles are near end of life, bundling with a roof replacement is usually the better long-term fix.
What’s the difference between a skylight and a Sun Tunnel®?
A skylight is a glazed opening in the roof (fixed or venting). A Sun Tunnel® uses a reflective tube to bring daylight into rooms that don’t sit directly under a good skylight location.
Will a skylight leak?
Leaks usually come from old or incorrect flashing, not from daylight itself. We install with VELUX’s matching flashing system and follow their instructions so you can use VELUX’s No Leak coverage on qualifying products.
