What About Maintenance Plans?

We are often asked if we offer yearly “maintenance plans” for residential customers.

The short answer is, we DON’T…

…but not for the reasons you might think. We could certainly make money selling such plans, but in our experience, they are not a good deal for a typical homeowner in the long term.

Most shingle roofs really don’t need yearly maintenance; a visual inspection by the homeowner is usually sufficient. An unnecessary rooftop inspection can actually damage your roof if the inspector steps in the wrong place. Customers often assume that their maintenance agreement “guarantees” a leak-free roof, but if extensive problems are found, they usually find out that only minor repairs are covered. At the end of the day, the customer usually winds up disappointed, and the contractor’s reputation and credibility are consequently damaged.
